I divide egg wash for leaves in three small bowls and add yellow food color gel to one, green and red to others. I paint leaves with yellow and add some green and or red, then bake. They are beautiful on this pie with the cranberries.

Hi Jane, it can be doubled, yes– but we’d suggest following this recipe for pumpkin slab pie. It makes a big pie to feed a crowd, and tastes identical to this pie.
